Colorado Real Estate News

Explore Eagle County and Western Colorado Real Estate from Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Colorado Properties was founded in 1971 by John Slevin and is currently owned by his son, Michael Slevin. We started out as a one-office company located in Vail, Colorado and then opened our second office in Beaver Creek, Colorado when Beaver Creek was founded as a Colorado ski resort. At that time, we had about ten real estate brokers and two offices in the Vail Valley. Today we have grown into a wonderful company with over one hundred real estate brokers, 14 real estate offices throughout Western Colorado, and one vacation and property management office located in the Vail Valley. We have now expanded into Summit County, Mesa County, Montrose County, Telluride, Durango, and Winter Park. We are still family owned and operated and continue to maintain our position in leading real estate sales in the Vail Valley.

Eagle County Real Estate Market Report: Buyer Demand Up Despite Inventory Challenges

By Michael - May 11, 2023
With the winter season (mostly) behind us and looking ahead to spring and summer, it’s important to note that closed sales (down from 2022) and a slower market pace are not reflective of buyer demand. Low inventory levels continue to put pressure on sales. As a more historic market comes into focus, there should be a relief for pent-up demand as inventory levels generally increase when the winter

Eagle County 2022 Year-End Real Estate Market Report: Markets Stabilize Amidst Continued Buyer Demand

By Michael - January 20, 2023
Unlike the steady (frantic) pace of 2021, the Eagle County 2022 real estate market experienced some significant changes. While the first quarter was a follow-through of the hyper-activity our markets saw in 2020/2021, inflation and interest rate increases changed the pace of sales beginning in June. As a result, the Eagle County 2022 residential real estate market declined by about 24% in dollar v

Eagle County Real Estate Market Report: A Changed Market Yields Opportunities

By BerkshireCoStaff - October 07, 2022
The Eagle County real estate market continues to show its resiliency despite headwinds from inflation, interest rates, and geopolitical uncertainty. No, it is not going to equal 2020 or 2021. By BerkshireCoStaff - September 13, 2022
“Normal” Market Trends EmergingBy Michael Slevin The informal selling season is beginning to wind down and real estate market trends we anticipated three months ago has manifested into a reality. Interest rate increases, while still at historically lower levels, have caused some pause in the market, but more for primary home buyers than second or vacation home buyers. This has resulted in sellers

By BerkshireCoStaff - April 08, 2022
Inventory levels rise – demand remains strongEagle County real estate is starting to see a shift in this market report to a more predictable activity, with inventory levels starting to rise -- normalizing a trend that used to occur each spring and into the summer months before 2020 and 2021’s impact.
